Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress best known for her performances in films like Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. At the age of 16she already secured a number of TV roles which included the leading role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. In the Oscar nominated film Downfall, her role as Adolf Hitler's Secretary Traudljunge was also a critically-acclaimed one. Other Oscar nominated movies featuring the actress include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is involved in many noteworthy projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. These projects include the British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. Her other roles include being an official jury member for each of the Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
